Curriculum Area: Creative Arts and Design
Art and Design Level Two BTEC Diploma
This is a practical, work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments based on workplace situations, activities and demands.
It is equivalent to four GCSE’s A*-C and is a full-time course.
Course Structure
The course is made up of eight units:

Enrichment
A number of visits are organized to help develop your research and observational skills.
Assessment
All units are assessed and graded and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded.
Resources
Students will work in a range of specialist areas including open plan art studios, computer suites and specialist photography rooms including a darkroom and studio.
Progression
A BTEC First Diploma prepares you for employment and provides a good grounding to go on to an advanced level course.
Entry Requirements
Good general education with GCSEs mainly at grade D or a level 1 BTEC Certificate at Merit or above
Charges
There is a fee of £40 for which students will receive a basic studio kit. Financial assistance is available if needed.
