BTEC Level 1 Certificate in IT Users in Supporting Employability


Who is the course for?

This course is for students who have achieved mainly grades E, F and G in their GCSEs. This course will give you the opportunity to develop many skills including IT. As well as learning about advanced use of the internet and use of software for multimedia and website, you will learn more about employment and how to present yourself in an interview.

Course Content

The Foundation Learning Tier is made up of:

Units

The Edexcel Level 1 BTEC Certificate in IT Users provides an introduction to the skills, qualities and knowledge that may be required for employment.

  • Unit 101 - (Mandatory) Improving Productivity Using IT
  • Unit 107 - Using the Internet
  • Unit 124 - Multimedia Software
  • Unit 127 - Spreadsheet Software
  • Unit 128 - Website Software

The Edexcel Level 1 BTEC Certificate in Supporting Employability and Personal Effectiveness provides students with marketable skills that will help them to be successful in employment.

  • Unit 2 - Searching for a Job
  • Unit 3 - Applying for a Job
  • Unit 4 - Preparing for an Interview
  • Unit 5 - Interview Skills
  • Unit 6 - Self-Assessment
  • Unit 8 - Working in a team

The BTEC Level 1 Award in Work skills will look at providing students with an awareness of Finance – both their own and looking after other people’s.

This course is an exciting new venture offered by Edexcel, within this course there is the possibility of tailoring the units that need to be completed so that each learner could be following their own individual learning aims and objectives.

Methods of Assessment

There is no examination on this course. It is based on assessment of units both internally and externally. Emphasis will be placed on the responsibility of the individual student for their own learning.

Entry Requirements

GCSE grades mostly at E-F. For this course a flexible approach will be adopted. Your application will be considered on individual merit.
