A large group of Advanced Graduate Programme students who are interested in Biomed had a visit from a very interesting Alumni member last week.

Professor Chris Garland

Professor Chris Garland, who studied at St Brendan’s when it was an all-boys school in the 1970’s, returned to College to speak to students about studying science, careers within the field, and life at the University of Oxford.  Chris is now a Tutorial Fellow and Professor of Vascular Pharmacology at Magdalen College, a part of the University of Oxford. In 2009, Chris was awarded the JR Vane Medal by the British Pharmacological Society, in recognition of his research achievements in pharmacology.

The welcomed guest delivered an incredibly interesting talk to the Biomed students and gave some great advice on applying to top Russell Group universities.
