The event brings together the whole College community and, as well as spreading festive cheer, raises money for charity. The participants embraced the cold weather and ran or walked 2.5km around Brislington for the College’s chosen charity Toilet Twinning. The fantastic charity is a water and sanitation initiative which helps thousands of people across the world to have access to a safe and hygienic loo. A massive 663 million people live without safe water (Unicef) and every day, almost 1000 children die from preventable diseases linked to dirty water and unsafe toilets (UN). St Brendan’s already has a number of College toilets twinned and was thrilled to use the event as an opportunity to help even further.

For those who didn’t partake in the afternoon run, hot chocolate and Krispy Kreme donuts were served (kindly donated by the local Avonmeads branch) and the choir performed a range of carols which echoed throughout the grounds and warmed the atmosphere on a very chilly December afternoon!

Together, the College raised £210,66 for Toilet Twinning – helping to build toilets and fund education for a safer future!
