Student Union

We're a group of seven normal students, elected by the student body to represent and support you.

It is our job to make sure student life is as enjoyable, easy going and worthwhile as possible. Each and every single person at St Brendan's deserves the chance to make the most of their time here; after all, an average student spends around 20 hours a week in this building! We only joined a year ago, so we know how you feel as new students; this means we can help with any concerns or problems you may have throughout the year.

Another big part of our job is event organising – particularly the College parties, which are great fun for everyone involved, so make sure you get your tickets early! Other events happen at different times across the College year as well, and so hopefully there is something for everyone. If you feel something is missing however, you and your friends could organise or set up a group, enrichment activity or social event, and we will be here to support and assist you in that. We strive to make sure your needs are met, in every respect.

The most important thing to remember is you can come and see us about absolutely anything. No matter how small the problem, we want to know about it and we'll do our best to sort things out.

You've probably heard it said that these are the best years of your life and they will indeed be memorable and life changing. Along with making lifelong friendships you'll have exam stress and early mornings but we're going through it all, just like you. We work alongside staff to try and make this an easier journey, and we'll do our best to support you in every aspect of student life.

The Current Student Union is made up of seven different posts each taking an active role in the college:

  • President: Dan Mencel
  • Vice President: Sam Copson
  • Secretary: Steph Montanaro
  • Treasurer: Matt Howes
  • Student Governor: Sam Walker
  • Equality and Diversity Officer: Lewis Mordue
  • Communications Officer: Sam Johnston
