100%committed to developing you as a football player

This programme has been designed for students, both male and female, who have a passion and talent for football and who wish to pursue their football development alongside developing and enhancing their academic status. The pathway delivers an elite football experience that replicates a professional football club scholarship environment, within a college setting.

The programme is unique in that its primary focus is one of ‘Academics First’ allowing students to develop as a player, whilst preparing themselves for either Higher Education, further training or employment.

To become a member of the Cheltenham Town FC Player Pathway students must complete at least one trial/training session and will be notified about suitability for the programme.

We deliver an elite football experience that replicates a professional football club scholarship environment, within a college setting.

We operate an education first ethos, ensuring students fulfil both their academic and football potential. Students study the BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport course alongside their football provision.

Football training takes place daily within college hours, with matches taking place on Wednesday afternoons in both the EFL Community Education Football Alliance League & Cup (featuring teams representing Premier League and EFL Clubs across the country) and English Colleges League/Cup.

We also play matches against professional Academy teams where students are selected to showcase their ability to professional club scouts and coaches.
