If you have an interest in digital technology and practical IT skills, this is the course for you.
It will help students develop knowledge and understanding of this growing sector, giving them skills to make them career ready.
The course comes in two qualifications, the Extended Certificate and Technical Diploma. The Extended Certificate consists of four digital media-oriented units such as Web Design and Online Business. The Diploma includes these but also offers units in hardware, software installation and systems support.
Units of Study
We offer the Cambridge TEC - IT Level 2 Extended Certificate (4 Units) and Diploma (7 Units).
The Extended Certificate is equivalent to two GCSEs and the Diploma three GCSEs at grade A*-C. All students study two core units in Communications and Employability skills.

Methods of Teaching and Learning
The course is taught by well qualified and experienced staff. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations.
Enrichment
A trip is organised each year to add to your understanding of how information technology is used in a business environment. You will also go on a one week work experience placement.
Method of Assessment
All units are internally assessed and externally moderated; there are no external examinations on this course.

The College has modern computers with a wide range of the most up to date industry-standard software programmes.
Progression
This course gives you the skills to take forward onto a modern apprenticeship, or for progression onto level three studies
