Course Outline

This course is designed to make sure you revise and master all the key topics and skills you need, to give you the best chance to improve your grade and pass your exam.

We want you to feel confident and at the same time to enjoy yourself! That's why we use a lot of games (including live quizzes) and a lot of active learning activities, which involve working in groups in a lot of different ways and with many different resources!

Of course we must not forget our solid routines, which involve the "5 a day" activities and a lot of practice on exam questions.

You will revisit a lot of topics, starting from fractions, decimals and percentages and ending up looking at how algebra fits with 2D or even 3D shapes! And while you do all of this, we will always support you and keep an eye on your well-being. Happy students are successful students!

Methods of Assessment

This course is assessed by written examinations in November or May/June.

Throughout the course, the progress of each student is assessed and monitored by regular assignments and mock examinations.

The College is well stocked with Mathematics textbooks, and students are encouraged to use IT resources as appropriate. Students are expected to provide their own scientific calculators and geometry sets.

There could be an optional cost for a GCSE exam workbook (£5.00 maximum), for the students who wish to have one.
