Entry Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade 4 or above (including English Language or Literature). Level 2 vocational qualifications (e.g. BTEC/OCR) must be a merit grade or above and will count as 1 GCSE equivalent.
  • To enrol on the Total Pro Soccer Elite Performance Academy, students MUST study on the Total Pro Soccer BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport.

Total Pro Soccer Elite Performance Academy prioritises ‘Academics First’ and is tailored for talented male footballers with a desire to pursue their football development alongside their academic studies. 

What skills will I develop?

The Total Pro Soccer coaching curriculum has been specifically created and developed to support all students towards fulfilling their potential. This enables our talented footballers to train in an environment where they can develop their technical ability, tactical knowledge, social skills, physical attributes and psychological awareness, without the fear of making mistakes.

As well as the excellent football development provision provided, this programme is designed to instil essential life skills such as confidence, resilience, teamwork and communication. This ensures students have relevant experiences and a solid foundation to transition smoothly from post 16 education into further education or employment.

How will the course be taught?

Training is delivered by Total Pro Soccer's highly experienced and qualified coaches, as well as expert strength and conditioning and sports injury staff. Training is planned in to the students’ timetable to allow for them to train throughout the week (during school hours) and play fixtures on a Wednesday afternoon in the National Schools/Colleges League. Where appropriate, students will also be nominated for trials with the County, South West and England Schools Trials.

Where can it take me?

This programme plays an essential role in preparing students for either Higher Education, Football Scholarships Abroad, Further Training or Employment.

If you would like to apply to be part of the Total Pro Soccer Elite Performance Academy, click on the pink APPLY NOW button at the bottom of this page and complete the application form. In the section headed YOUR SUBJECT CHOICES select in the Subject 1 dropdown: Total Pro Soccer Elite Academy Sport Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma - it is the last option on the list. You do not have to select a course from any of the other options as this course is the equivalent of 3 A-levels.

Within a month of submitting your form you will receive an email from the college letting you know if your application has been successful, if it has you will be made an academic offer and you will be able to join the academy providing you get the required GCSE grades and complete a successful TPS practical trial.
