Student Management Team

Originally started in September 2013, the Student Management Team(SMT) has gone from strength to strength and is now an integral part of what we do within the Sports Union.

The SMT is a board of students who take on a variety of roles such as 'Head of Events', 'Head of Media' and 'Project Officer' and these students meet regularly with our Sports Coordinator to plan and deliver a range of events, both internally to our college community and on a larger scale to fellow colleges, schools and community groups.

How do I become a member of the SMT?

There will be an opportunity for you to pick up application forms during fresher's fair. You can apply for as many positions as you wish, but will usually have one main role on the board whilst supporting your peers in a range of other tasks in the build up to events.

Why should I become a member of the SMT?

This is a nationally recognised programme that allows you to take part in a range of voluntary work that not only develops but also helps you to demonstrate a range of vital interpersonal skills that both universities and employers want to see from you.

The programme is one that can be flexible to your workload and we will support you in developing your skills portfolio throughout your time with us.

Furthermore, working as a member of the SMT will guarantee you hours towards the Sports Union Employability Challenge, another tool that we use to accredit and recognise your efforts to helping others fulfill their ambition.
