A small group of enthusiastic Social Science students had an interesting guest visit last week, as past St Brendan’s student Molly Jenkins came in to talk to the students about her University experience.

Molly is a Criminology student at Coventry University and came to share some useful advice and tips; covering things such as friendships, finance and social life, as well as her course details. She emphasised the importance of being on the right course, as Criminology is something Molly is highly passionate about, she also ran through the type of topics that are likely to be covered in such a degree (as well as explaining how much reading is involved with any course!) She also talked to the students about how important it is to get involved with any opportunities that are available; this has led to Molly writing a paper with her University Professor about vulnerable witnesses and has also led to her being commissioned to review the West Midlands Police Triage Policy next year. Molly’s advice was extremely useful for the students, giving a number of her listeners a clearer insight into what they might like to study after leaving St Brendan’s.
