Congratulations to St Brendan’s student Isabelle who will begin a 4-year civil engineering apprenticeship with Rolls Royce this September.

This is a prestigious apprentice scheme that offers a competitive salary and the chance to study for fully sponsored qualifications along with working in a collaborative and digitally enabled environment with industry leaders and experts.

Isabelle had to complete a multi layered application process to secure her apprenticeship offer. The first stage involved online critical thinking and literacy tests. Next came the formal application process where she had to answer a series of questions including why she wants to work for the company and why she is a good candidate. The final stage was an assessment centre which included an interview, exam questions, a practical skills test and a presentation on something that interests you. Isabelle is passionate about Formula One and so chose to present on the fundamental role that aerodynamics play in F1 cars.

Isabelle has always dreamt of being an engineer and has pursued her ambition while at St Brendan’s by working to achieve the very best grades in her chosen subjects: Maths, Physics, and Biology. We are extremely proud of Isabelle and are confident she will do well in this new and exciting chapter – we can’t wait to catch up with her later in the year.
