Before the half term break, a group of Modern Foreign Languages students were given the opportunity to teach young pupils, at local primary school St Bernadette’s.

While the German and Spanish students focused on introducing their learned languages to the junior classes, the French students began to teach Year 2 pupils vocabulary linked to the topic of family. Meanwhile, Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 were taught either Spanish or German. The children participated in various activities – including vocabulary matching, word searches and small discussions. I personally was surprised by their eagerness to participate and answer questions; something which made teaching a foreign language much easier. I look forward to the next session where we will introduce new topics to all of the classes! Luca Hargitai (French student)
