Public Services students have been busy learning outside of the classroom recently, on two very interesting trips.
The students with the Royal Navy
During the first of the adventures, the students took part in an activity day with the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers. They were able to speak to this highly-regarded section of the army about careers and also took part in several teamwork and leadership activities, including shelter building with tubes!
The second trip transported the students to Cardiff Marina to board the HMS Express patrol vessel with the Royal Navy. During one of the most exciting trips the students had ever experienced, they learned about aspects of life aboard the 5 crew vessel and enjoyed a sea-ride where they were given an opportunity to steer! The crew re-enacted a man-overboard scenario and explained emergency drills and the students enjoyed demonstrations from the Submariners core and Royal Marines.
