Psychology students this week went on a trip to the Colston Hall in Bristol to attend a Science Versus Pseudoscience conference.

They enjoyed guest speakers such as Dr Dance - a dance psychologist, Andrew Newton – a renowned hypnotist and Professor Sophie Scott – a cognitive neuroscientist who is looking into the science of laughter.

The conference was both educational and entertaining, with quizzes on widely believed education myths and a demonstration in hypnosis, as well as learning how contagious laughter is and seeing what your dance style says about you. “It was an amazing day out for all who went and certainly enlightened our knowledge of the subjects involved!”
