This week a group of 24 first year Sport students enjoyed a Leadership and Football event at College, led by the Somerset FA.

The course is designed to develop leadership skills, confidence, team building and volunteering; skills which are highly sought after by universities, employers and apprenticeship providers. Students reflected upon their own pathways and thought about the steps they needed to take to get to their end goals.
The students who took part in the event are not currently involved in community volunteering in sports but had an action packed day and are now aiming to use the skills learnt in a sporting environment. They are also looking forward to the upcoming follow-up session aimed at furthering their opportunities to volunteer and gain additional coaching experience and qualifications.
