After the great success of the St Brendan’s choir in September, which saw the group welcome the Georgian Rugby squad to Bristol ahead of the Rugby World Cup, it seems they have become highly sought after; as Bristol Rugby requested the choir opened one of their games this month!
The Choir performing
The St Brendan’s choir delivered an uplifting performance of the Rugby World Cup anthem ‘The World in Union’ at Aston Gate Stadium. Performing during half-time in Bristol Rugby’s match with Yorkshire Carnegie, the choir was a mix of students who had sung at the Welcoming Ceremony for Georgia and 1st year students.The choir mirrored Bristol’s impressive performance on the pitch, with the Musical Theatre and Performing Arts students giving a moving rendition of the anthem.
The choir were treated to a warm applause from the crowd and were delighted to meet an old boy of St Brendan’s from the 1950’s, when the college was housed in Berkeley Square.
