Huge congratulations to St Brendan’s first years’ Ben Renolds and Jacob Bishop-Ponte for their achievements at the Making Business Happen Awards!

Jacob and Ben attended the awards this week, along with Accounting Teacher Claire Preston. Hosted by the University of South Wales, the pair took part in the Dragon’s Den-style awards where they achieved 3rd place!
Ben and Jacob founded Next Creative at the beginning of their St Brendan’s journey. Next Creative is a Digital Marketing Agency specialising in Search Engine Optimisation. The successful pair have managed to build a business, create a fantastic website and have worked with multiple organisations across Bristol already!
Ben and Jacob attended the awards on Thursday, where they took part in entrepreneurial workshops, industry mentoring support sessions and networking opportunities. The pair then had an opportunity to pitch their business ideas to a panel of expert judges. Achieving third place is a fantastic achievement for Ben and Jacob; they secured £250 each and won £250 for the College! The pair also won a comprehensive business support and mentoring package for one year which includes a dedicated business mentor form the South Wales Business School, legal advice and an enterprise/business workshop for College!
