A group of Advanced Graduate Programme students recently attended a meeting about two fantastic Access Programmes which are available for first year students, held at both Bristol and Bath Universities.

Bristol University

Bristol University

The University of Bristol runs the Realising Opportunities programme which provides students with skills and information to enable them to make informed decisions about their future. The programme aims to raise aspirations and encourages progression on to a leading research-intensive University and supports their current work in College. Students who enrol are supported by the University of Bristol and are assigned a dedicated mentor who is currently studying. Successful completion of Realising Opportunities results in additional consideration for University applications.

The AGP group also heard about the two year On Track To Bath programme, which is also designed to support University applications. The group found the meeting and information on both courses incredibly useful and everyone is planning on applying for one or both of the schemes!

If any other students want to find out more about the programmes see Katie Thoburn (AGP), Linda Hall (CIEG) or ask Tutors.
