Ran by an ITV Television workshop leader who has impressive experience as an actor, director and film maker, the course is a superb opportunity which has been offered to students by the Drama Department. Over the course of 7 sessions, students will learn basic techniques that are required to perform in front of camera for TV and film. Subjects covered will include realism, intensity, subtlety, subtext, ‘thinking’ rather than ‘acting’, screen presence, framing and continuity. In the first session, students thought about the differences between acting for TV and acting for film and discussed the harsh realities of such an industry.
