In a vocal performance that would make the city proud, 17 students delivered a chilling performance of the official cup anthem, World in Union, which echoed throughout St George’s concert hall. Bristol has been selected as one of the team bases for this year’s event and is to be home to the Georgian Rugby Team throughout their time in the competition; it was the student’s job to welcome them in true Bristol fashion.

The welcoming ceremony marked the arrival of the squad to England, ahead of their first game on Saturday against Tonga. During the ceremony, each member of the team was presented with a tournament cap and Rugby World Cup 2015 participation medal; the St Brendan’s students were honoured to be a part of such prestigious ceremony which celebrated the game’s culture and unity.

The group of 17 Musical Theatre students were not short of supporters themselves, as teachers, staff and fellow pupils at the Brislington College came together to wish them luck ahead of their performance; something which they have been perfecting since May. The student’s flawless performance was enjoyed so much so that they have now been booked to open a Bristol Rugby game – congratulations to all involved; we look forward to more exciting achievements to come!
