Alumni member Sophie Vaughan-Williams returned to college last week to deliver a talk to current biomed students about her experiences during her first year at the University of Sheffield Medical School.

She told the group how her timetable included lectures covering much of the biology which she had learnt at St Brendan’s, which gave her a great start to the course, as well as tutorials on dissections, early years’ experience spent in a GP surgery, critical numbers (which are very challenging statistics lessons) and formative assessment sessions.

The engaged students asked Sophie many questions about the tricky university application process, as well as university life and her interesting course.
