Work Experience Feedback
Here are some snippets that our students have shared with us about their work experience.
I think BSMS work experience was beneficial to me because it
allowed me to experience many different fields in the medical
profession, including GP surgeries and palliative care. I didn't
think I could learn so much through virtual observation but I
really did, and this well-respected medical school will look great
on a personal statement. I think med applicants should take this
opportunity to build the basic skills needed for medical school
and to see what being a doctor is really like.
Work experience is a great opportunity to improve your skill set
and gain that all important knowledge in your career industry.
Companies value students who have taken the initiative to
research and experience the atmosphere that will be involved in
doing a particular job. Work experience has allowed me to
improve my knowledge in my chosen career path and it given me
the opportunity to go further in my career path because I can
apply that knowledge everywhere I go.
I think that it is important to do work experience because it helps
you to figure out what career pathway is best for you, or which
sector within a career pathway that you find most interesting.
I really enjoyed NHS program because it has opened my eyes to all
of the different pathways into nursing- some of which I didn't
even know existed! And it's really helped me to get an insight into
the nursing world. I would really recommend doing work
experience because it's so nice to know that you're doing
something that could actually have an impact on your future!
After completing many virtual NHS programmes, I can
confidently say that I have gained knowledge on the
many career paths available within the NHS helping me
to decide my intended field of work. All sessions are
super engaging and informative and you will definitely
learn something that will suprise you in each session!
I think it is very useful to do work experience because it gives you
a clearer picture of the career you are thinking about going into, it
is also very beneficial hearing people's personal experience and
how they got to where they are.
