Career Ready

All students in year 12 have the opportunity to apply for the Career Ready Programme

Career Ready is a UK-wide social mobility charity that connects young people with workplace experience and support. In partnership with employers, they provide young people aged 16-18 with workplace mentoring, paid internships, skills masterclasses, and visits to local employers, helping them to kickstart their future careers.

Visit www.careerready.org.uk to find out more.

Mentoring

A series of monthly meetings with a volunteer from the world of work. Taking place in the mentor’s workplace or in College, each meeting lasts an hour and focuses on a different aspect of the student’s career and education journey.

All Career Ready mentors are DBS-checked and advised on safeguarding principles and codes of conduct prior to being matched with a young person.

Masterclasses

Taking place in College, a volunteer from the world of work will present to groups of students.

Each masterclass has a specific focus on a different career skill or pathway – from networking and communication to personal branding and interview success.

Paid Summer Internships

This unique opportunity is highly sought after and enables students to build crucial workplace experience whilst getting paid!

In the summer of 2022 students secured internships with Mitie, Savills, Mountain Warehouse and Marsh Insurance.
