St Brendan's Sixth Form College is delighted to announce the appointment of David Beesley as our new Vice Principal for Curriculum, Quality & Innovation.
David joins our college community with a strong track record in educational leadership, having previously held roles as Assistant Headteacher and Director of Post 16 in two large and diverse secondary schools. His expertise spans curriculum development, quality enhancement, and student support, and his values align closely with our college’s mission to transform lives through high-quality, inclusive education.
David’s own educational journey—being one of the first in his family to attend university—fuels his passion for social mobility and his unwavering belief in the power of education to open doors. “I understand firsthand the power of education—not just for individuals but for entire families,” he shared. “It is an honour to join a college so dedicated to empowering students to flourish, regardless of their background or starting point.”
As a leader, David is known for his collaborative approach, transparency, and commitment to continuous improvement. His focus at St Brendan’s will be to ensure every student experiences excellence in teaching and learning, while being fully supported to grow intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.
Principal Marian Curran warmly welcomed David, saying:
“We are thrilled to welcome David to our college community. His unwavering commitment to placing students at the heart of everything he does, along with his dedication to social justice and social mobility, perfectly aligns with our college’s mission and values. David is not only a leader who believes in the transformative power of education but also brings a warm, engaging, and playful spirit that energises those around him. We are confident that his vision, integrity, and sense of fun will further enrich our community and inspire both staff and students alike.”
David is already making strong connections within the college and is eager to engage with students, parents, staff, and the wider St Brendan’s community. “My door is always open,” he says. “I look forward to working in partnership with you all as we continue the outstanding work of this incredible college.”
With David’s passion, experience, and energy, we are excited for the journey ahead.
Welcome to St Brendan's, David!
