Important update for 2025 Taster Days
With the best interests of all students in mind, we are informing you of an update to our scheduled event ‘Year 11 Taster Days’.
Due to unforeseen logistical circumstances, it has been our decision to move the live events due to be held on campus to the 30th June and 1st July.
We recognise that prospective students look forward to this opportunity, and remain committed to ensuring they have the most best experience possible.
Students will receive an email with an updated invitation for the 30th June or 1st July, but their timetable will otherwise remain unchanged. We’re asking that students please make a note of their new date and get in touch with us at tasterdays@stbrn.ac.uk if there are any questions.
If you were due to take part in an audition on Monday 23rd or Tuesday 24th June, please note more information will be provided separately.

Further update 20/06/2025
To provide an update on the situation as it is developing. The College and the NEU, one of our main trade union partners, have been in ongoing discussions around a number of staffing matters. As part of this, the union has proposed some days of action. The situation on teaching staff availability unclear, we took the precautionary step to move the Taster Days events. This was to ensure we could offer the best possible experience for students.
At present, a relatively small proportion of our staff are actively involved in the industrial action, and we are continuing to work constructively with the union to find a resolution. We understand that changes to events can be disruptive, and we appreciate your understanding as we manage this carefully and responsibly.
