As part of our programme to help prepare our students for life after college we’ve partnered with Career Ready; a social mobility charity who share our belief that every young person deserves the chance to kickstart a rewarding future.
Twelve of our Year 12 students have been selected for this insightful and rewarding opportunity. This year they will be joined by industry giants such as; BUPA, Allianz, KPMG and Thales. By covering a vast range of sectors from finance and IT to health care and insurance, our students will gain invaluable exposure and get the opportunity to discover the industry that’s right for them.
Each student has been paired with a mentor from one of these great organisations and last week they got to meet them for the first time. The mentors took time away from their busy jobs to meet with their mentees face-to-face at St Brendan’s and to begin planning what lies ahead. Each student will receive 12 monthly 1-to-1 sessions with their mentor to focus on their goals and unlock their full potential.
Throughout the programme they will also get to attend exclusive masterclasses and work place visits. In addition to these events, they will all be placed in a 4-week paid summer internship to gain experience in their chosen sector.
