Largest A-level cohort in the region celebrates another year of outstanding results.
St Brendan's Sixth Form College is celebrating another year of continued success today as students collect their A Level and vocational qualification results. With the largest A Level cohort in the region, the College is celebrating the achievements of a diverse and ambitious group of students as they take their next steps towards university, degree apprenticeships and rewarding careers.
THIS YEAR AT A GLANCE
Students at St Brendan’s have achieved an A-level pass rate of 97.6%, including 796 high-grade passes.
The College has also seen another strong year for vocational study, with 299 of the grades achieved by students on Level 3 BTEC and Applied General courses being either Distinction or Distinction* - the highest grade possible.
191 students achieved high grades in all subjects studied (A-Levels and/or BTECS).
Among the College's many outstanding student success stories is Zabian (pictured), who achieved A*, A, A in Graphic Communications, History and Physics, with an additional A* for an EPQ and will progress to University of Oxford to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics following a gap year.

Over 500 students applied through UCAS this year, and the majority will be taking up places at their first-choice university. Among them is George (pictured) who will be heading to University of Durham to study Theology after achieving three Bs in his A Levels.

The College has also seen significant success in higher and degree apprenticeships. Students have secured prestigious Level 6 and 7 apprenticeship opportunities with employers including KPMG, Osborne Clarke and Airbus demonstrating the breadth of progression routes available to St Brendan's learners.
Among them is Ida (pictured right) who will beginning a degree apprenticeship at Deloitte, with Katie (left) who is going to be studying Business Management at the University of Bristol.

Marian Curran, Principal of St Brendan’s, expressed her pride at the students’ achievements, saying:
“I could not be prouder of our students. These results reflect their resilience, ambition and sheer hard work, and they have earned every grade. But a results day at St Brendan’s is about far more than numbers - it is about the confident, thoughtful and well-rounded young people who leave us ready for whatever comes next.
My thanks go to our dedicated staff, whose commitment makes days like this possible, and to the families who have supported these young people every step of the way. The success we celebrate today belongs to our whole College community.”
