St Brendan’s Sixth Form College is proud to celebrate the achievements of students who have strengthened their GCSE English and Maths outcomes this year, marking an important milestone in their educational journey and future aspirations.
Alongside its wide range of A-level and Applied General courses, the College offers an Access to Level 3 programme, supporting students as they grow in confidence, capability, and readiness for advanced study. This pathway enables students to secure strong GCSE outcomes in English and Maths and to progress successfully to full A-levels or equivalent qualifications.
For students who narrowly miss their target GCSE grades, St Brendan’s also provides opportunities to improve their English and Maths outcomes alongside A-level study, ensuring that progression remains open, inclusive, and aspirational. Achieving a Grade 4 or above in GCSE English and Maths is a crucial foundation for future learning, training, and employment. At St Brendan’s, students are supported through high-quality teaching, personalised academic guidance, and a nurturing learning environment that values each individual, encourages perseverance, and enables young people to flourish.
Outcomes in GCSE English Language continue to be a significant strength at the College. This year’s results show strong progress, with the November pass rate rising by a further 5% compared with last year. Over 65% of students achieved a Grade 4 or above, significantly exceeding the national post-16 average of around 37.5%. These outcomes reflect the College’s commitment to high expectations, thoughtful support, and an approach to education that places the growth and success of every student at its heart.
“At St Brendan’s, we believe deeply in the potential of every young person. These results are a testament not only to our students’ determination and hard work, but also to the care, encouragement, and high expectations that underpin our community. We are proud to walk alongside our students as they grow in confidence, achieve important milestones, and prepare for the next stage of their lives with hope and ambition.”
