We're incredibly proud of a group of St Brendan's students who have volunteered as mentors through the Bristol Educational Partnership's cross-city mentoring programme, led by English teacher Hetty Brown.

Taking on the role of a mentor is both rewarding and challenging. Our students have demonstrated patience, adaptability and resilience, finding solutions in difficult situations and supporting younger learners with empathy and understanding. Their thoughtful approach, excellent social skills and commitment to helping others are a true testament to everything we stand for as a college.

The impact of the programme is clear to see in their own reflections:

It developed my listening skills, my communication, my ability to make my mentee feel comfortable around me and help to open up, my patience and confidence.

It made me feel more confident to see that I can help younger people and be a good listener when needed.

These experiences are helping our students grow as leaders, communicators and role models, while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

A huge thank you to Hetty Brown and the Bristol Educational Partnership for creating these valuable opportunities, and congratulations to all of our student mentors for representing St Brendan's so brilliantly.
