Parent & Carer Resources

Safeguarding at St Brendan’s is about keeping young people safe, supporting their wellbeing and responding appropriately when concerns are raised. We understand that post‑16 education brings greater independence, and safeguarding arrangements reflect this while ensuring students remain protected and supported.

This page has been designed to give parents and carers clear, accessible information about safeguarding at St Brendan’s Sixth Form College.

Safeguarding concerns may relate to a wide range of issues, including wellbeing, health, relationships, online safety or risks outside College. All concerns are taken seriously and handled sensitively by trained staff.

We aim to:

Explain safeguarding processes clearly

  • Help families understand what happens when concerns are raised
  • Reassure parents and carers that concerns are managed appropriately
  • Our approach is based on partnership, transparency and clear communication, while respecting students’ rights and confidentiality in a sixth‑form setting.
