This course provides an opportunity for students who are fluent in a language not offered as a taught subject to gain an additional A Level qualification.
Students independently prepare for the qualification, supported by guidance from the Modern Foreign Languages department.

Listening

Study of literary texts and/or films

This is a self‑taught course:
There is no formal classroom teaching
Students prepare independently for exams
Guidance is provided on using specifications and past papers
All assessment is through examinations
Some languages include written exams only
Others may include a speaking exam, sometimes conducted at another centre or online
Students are supported through:
A dedicated Microsoft Teams space for guidance and collaboration
Access to shared resources and support materials
Encouragement to use a wide range of online media for reading and listening practice
Students are required to pay exam board fees
Additional fees may apply for speaking exams
Exam administration and invigilation are provided by the college at no extra cost.
This course is taken in addition to a full‑time programme of A Levels and cannot replace your main subjects.
