Your first day
On your first day, you’ll begin getting to know what college life is like.
You will:
- Meet your teachers and classmates
- Find out where your lessons take place
- Start to understand your timetable
Staff will be available to help you find your way and answer any questions, so you don’t need to worry about getting everything right straight away.
Getting used to your timetable
Your timetable will show you your subjects, lesson times and locations.
During your first week, you’ll:
- Learn how your timetable works
- Get used to moving between different spaces
- Begin managing your time between lessons
You’ll be supported as you get used to this, helping you build confidence and independence.
Settling into college life
Your first week is about getting comfortable in your new environment.
You’ll have the chance to:
- Explore the campus
- Use study and social spaces
- Get used to a more independent routine
It’s completely normal if things feel new at first - that’s all part of the transition.
Meeting new people
One of the most important parts of your first week is meeting other students.
You will:
- Get to know people in your classes
- Meet students from across the College
- Start building friendships
Everyone is in the same position, so it’s a great time to connect with others.
Support from the start
Support is available from day one to help you settle in.
You can speak to:
- Your teachers
- Pastoral staff
- Other support teams across the College
