The region’s largest provider of A-level education has a new leader.

St Brendan’s, where over 1800 sixth formers study, is delighted to announce the appointment of Marian Curran as its new Principal. Marian is replacing Michael Jaffrain who is returning to the north of England to be closer to friends and family and to become Principal at Loreto Sixth Form College.

Marian has been the Vice-Principal at St Brendan's for the last two years and has worked closely with Michael throughout. She commented "I am thrilled to have been appointed Principal of St Brendan's. Under Michael's leadership, the College has become renowned for the quality of education it provides to students across the South West. Although I begin my tenure as a Principal in uncertain times I am looking forward to working with our College leadership team and our Board of Governors, staff and students, to continue this journey of excellence, whilst also ensuring the College is well placed to respond to current circumstances and to be the very best at what it does, namely supporting our students in achieving the qualifications and skills they need for their futures.

Michael said “I am pleased with the outcome of the selection process for my successor. Marian has a wealth of experience in education and is already familiar with the College, its students, parents and staff. She will inherit a strong Board of Governors, an experienced Senior Leadership Team and over 200 staff committed to delivering the best outcomes for our students.”
